TANGANYIKA TRAVELS LTD (TTS) organize wildlife safaris to Ngorongoro Crater National Park, Serengeti National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park and Mkomazi Game Reserve, both Lodge Safaris and the Camp (Budget) Safaris. Lodge Safari is a Safaris which is arranged in advance with Hotel reservations and advance booking for a specific itinerary especially during the high season months of July to September and November to February. The advantage of this type of Safari is the certainty of concluding a certain itinerary in a specific period of time as planned since all bookings will be made and confirmed before the guest departs from home. Nothing is left to chance. This type of Safari is also safer and most preferred by many people as standard type of Safari. Camping (Budget) Safari is more adventurous and a lot is left to chance. There is no need for advance booking of Hotel and almost all Hotels in the Northern Tourist circuit have reserved a specific area for camping. This type of Safari is cheaper and exciting in that wild animals could sometimes come very close to the camping site giving the guests a very sensational experience. Camping sites are guarded throughout the nights. |

Ngorongoro Crater National Park: The Ngorongoro Crater, 610 m deep and 20 km in diameter, is the home of hundreds of thousands of animals and flamingos and other birds which stage spectacular displays. Ngorongoro was an active volcano some eight million years ago whose cone collapsed leaving a crater or more properly a caldera. The crater rim, where lodges like the Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge, the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge and the Ngorongoro Forest Resort, are superbly situated at an altitude of 2,286 m, is wooded with mountain forest vegetation. Serengeti National Park: Serengeti plains, the vast area of over 14,763 sq. km with the most spectacular concentration of game found anywhere in the world is the symbol of Africa's wildlife. It's primeval beauty is the subject of many great books and films. It is Tanzania's largest National Park. The Serengeti contains all the big five and over thirty five other species of game animals. A splendid selection of bird life is also to be found in the park. The annual migration of wildlife animals add to the uniqueness of the Park. This is massive movement of vast herds of animals, usually in May and June. Thousands upon thousands of wildbeast and zebra are seen moving across the central plains westwards and northwards in search of water. To watch this animal movement is a remarkable and inspiring sight. |
